   Oatmeal Face Mask

Oatmeal is useful in several ways for the skin. It is often used to make face masks and other skin care products. Usage of oatmeal face mask helps you to avoid several skin ailments and also adds glow to your skin. Also, this face mask enhances the texture of the skin and makes it plain and even. If your skin is damaged due to sunburn, it can be cured effectively with oatmeal bath. Below are some oatmeal face mask recipes and their uses.

Oatmeal Face Mask Recipes:

Recipe – 1:

To prepare an easy facial mask with oatmeal, take 5–6 tablespoons of ground oatmeal in a bowl and add water to make a thick and smooth paste. Spread the mixture on the face evenly and let it dry. Rinse it with cold water. You can also add milk instead of water to make your facial skin more nourished. This is the best oatmeal mask recipe for oily skin people.

Recipe – 2:

This oatmeal mask recipe is for people suffering from acne. This can be applied on alternate days and must be followed by moisturizing to eliminate acne. Take five drops of almond oil, juice of half lemon, an egg white and a tablespoon of oatmeal powder. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to make a smooth paste. Add water if it is very thick. Apply it on the face and let it stay for 15–20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.

Recipe – 3:

This is a best recipe for dry skin and it is also an excellent face scrub. This mask helps in exfoliating the skin and to flush out dead skin cells leaving soft and plain skin. Take a ripe banana and smash it. Take it into a bowl and add a cup of ground oatmeal to it. Mix it well and later add lukewarm milk. Stir it properly to make a smooth facial mask. Apply it over the face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wet your hands if it is dry else start scrubbing it directly to exfoliate the skin. Rinse it off with cold water. Pat dry and apply a toner, which is followed by moisturizer.

Benefits of Oatmeal Face Mask:

It is more beneficial than a healthy breakfast.
Oatmeal facial mask is the best face cleanser. It opens up the skin pores and flushes out dirt. This mask is suitable for all skin types. Hence, people with all skin types may use this to obtain its benefits.
It can be used to treat mild skin irritations.
If you have dry skin, try this face mask to obtain smooth skin.
Half dried oatmeal can be used as a scrub to exfoliate skin.
It also treats itching and is known for anti-inflammatory properties.

Surely oatmeal makes an excellent homemade face mask. If it is used regularly, it helps in providing the best facial skin care. The above mentioned recipes help your skin in many ways by making it wrinkle-free, pimple- free and completely healthy.

MICHELLE OBAMA OPTS
FOR JASON WU

It's official: First Lady Michelle Obama opted for a ruby red Jason Wu gown for the 2013 Inaugural Ball.
Michelle Obama's red Jason Wu gown

First Lady Michelle Obama made designer Jason Wu into a household name when she opted to wear one of his creations to the 2009 Inaugural Ball. Well, he better be ready for superstardom: Michelle again opted to wear one of his gowns at the 2013 Inaugural Ball.
"I can't believe it. It's crazy," Wu told CBS News Monday night. "To have done it once was already the experience of my life. To have a second time is tremendous."
The ruby red halter gown was adorned with real diamonds — a collaboration with jeweler Kimberly McDonald.
"For this occasion, it had to be real diamonds," Wu said.
Obama added Jimmy Choo shoes and a Kimberly McDonald ring to complete the look.
Not that her husband, President Barack Obama, cares that much. He told the crowd that his wife "makes me a better man and a better president."
"I'm lucky to have her," he added.
All together now: Awww!
The pair danced as Jennifer Hudson sang Al Green's "Let's Stay Together."
We knew M.O. would knock it out of the park during the Ball, especially since she looked so fab during President Obama's swearing-in ceremony on Monday morning. The 49-year-old opted for a Thom Browne coat, J.Crew dress and belt.
Want to get some of it for yourself?
Well, you can't: The Browne coat was custom made, and the J.Crew belt has already sold out.
I personally loved her look head to toe, and the color Red just added the extra WOW factor for me. She looked very classy and elegant. What did you guys think? Did you love it as much as I did?

Eat Away the Years

Fabulous foods that fight aging!!!

50 is the new 30. Just ask the gorgeous Demi Moore, who recently celebrated the big 5-0. We may not have an entourage of dermatologists with science’s greatest and latest skin remedies to combat age, but we hope we are as stunning as Demi when we’re older. (Err, minus the nervous breakdown and the ex frolicking with a much younger woman.)
We did research on foods that fight aging (see below) and modifying our diets is way cheaper (and way less painful) than Botox!

Berries: A Good Source of AntioxidantsBerries: Berries contain antioxidants that protect against diseases such as cancer and diabetes while promoting cell growth. Here’s another hint; the deeper and richer the color of the berries, the more antioxidants they have.
Broccoli: A Good Source of Vitamin CVitamin C: This antioxidant is key when it comes to healthy skin and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps repair damaged body tissues. For your daily serving of vitamin C, try broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peppers, kiwi, strawberries, and oranges.
Salmon: A Good Source of Omega-3 Fatty AcidsOmega-3 fatty acids: Healthy fats help prevent heart disease, reduce inflammation, and lower blood pressure. They’re found in coldwater fish like salmon, herring, tuna, and sardines. “If you don’t like fish, you may want to take a fish oil supplement. Studies show that people who eat a lot of fish live longer,” Levine said. She recommends at least two servings per week.
Cocoa Beans: A Good Source of Antioxidants and FlavonoidsCocoa beans: Cocoa beans contain antioxidants and flavonoids that help reduce inflammation in the skin caused by exposure to UV light. Fighting wrinkles by indulging in dark chocolate? We’re in!
Green Leafy Vegetables: A Good Source of Vitamin EVitamin E: This antioxidant helps decrease inflammation and improve eye/skin health. Try nuts, avocados, dark leafy greens, and whole grains for your daily serving of vitamin E.

Cranberry Anti - Aging Face Mask

As moms we tend to take care of everyone else first and then us. At times we don't have much time to take care of our skin and face. Here's a great DIY Anti Aging face mask.

Cranberries aren't just for serving up next to your turkey at Thanksgiving. This year, set aside some cranberries to make a DIY face mask, and head into the holiday season looking and feeling great!

Cran-beauty

Fresh cranberries make an appearance around
Thanksgiving and most people are buying them up to serve as a side dish. Stock up on those cranberries because you can make a great face mask with them. All it takes is a few ingredients to whip up an easy DIY anti-aging face mask: cranberries, red grapes, a bit of grapefruit juice and unflavored gelatin.
The acid in the fruit in this mask acts as an exfoliant, and vitamins A and C help with collagen production. Cranberries fight free radicals that can cause wrinkles, and they also help keep your skin moisturized.

Easy, DIY anti-aging cranberry face mask

Before applying the mask to your face, first test it on your inner arm, where your skin is more sensitive, to help ensure you can tolerate the ingredients. Wash your face to remove any dirt or makeup, and dry it completely. You may want to wear an old T-shirt when you apply the mask, as the ingredients may stain your clothing. Apply the mask to your face starting at your chin and working your way up, taking care to avoid your eyes. Relax for about 15 minutes before rinsing off the mask with warm water.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes
  • 2 teaspoons grapefruit juice
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin

Directions:

1
Rinse the cranberries and grapes, and then add all the ingredients to a blender and puree until they form a paste-like mixture.
2
Cover the mixture and place in the refrigerator for 35 to 45 minutes to thicken.
3
Remove and allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
4
Pull your hair away from your face and apply the mixture to clean skin. Find a spot where you can relax with the mask on your face for about 15 minutes. Gently wash off the mask with warm water, either in the shower or with a soft cloth.
