HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS!!!!



OCTOBER 12, 2012 - 10AM - 4PM @ THE GROVE
SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY MACHINE TOUR - *FREE*

Scooby-Doo needs the help of kids across the US to solve a mystery! There are clues at each of the Scooby-Doo partner locations, and the crew is recruiting local sleuths to solve the mystery!

At each stop, attendees will be given an activity sheet to gather clues from various activities. Stations will include Crayola coloring, reading lounge, photo activity, games and more! Once all the clues have been collected and the completed activity sheet has been submitted, participants will receive a special prize from Scooby-Doo.

Scooby-Doo will be making an appearance at all the tour stop locations - it’s mystery-solving fun for all!

THE 5TH ANNUAL PINE CONE FESTIVAL - *FREE*

The Pine Cone Festival is a one of a kind event for the whole family! Did you know that they have the heaviest pine cone in the world growing in the Southern California Mountains, the Coulter Pine Cone, they can weigh up to 10 pounds? It's also the home to the longest pine cone in the world the Sugar Cone, they can grow up to 2 feet long!
Learn all about our beautiful local mountains and their wildlife. There is local entertainment featuring musicians, singers, and animal trainers.
Free to enter are pine cone contests: "The worlds Largest Pine Cone",and a "Pine Cone Craft Contest" (make a unique craft out of one then submit them and win prizes). What would the Pine Cone Festival be with out the "Pine Cone Olympics" for ages 4 to 100. Compete in pine cone archery, hoop toss and shot put. Win great prizes and be an Olympic champion!

THE PUMPKIN FAIR - *FREE*

The Pumpkin Fair is a treat for the whole family! Celebrate the season with a fun-filled day/eve of rides, gigantic bouncies, haunted house, carnival games, raffles, arts and crafts, costume contest, face painting, laser race track, exciting music, amazing prize booth and special surprise flash mob! Over 70 local vendors plus tasty food from local restaurants and MORE!!!! Free Admission - Rides, Food and drink for purchase Proceeds benefit our local public school children. FAMILY FUN, FUN, FUN.



OCTOBER 20-21, 2012

1. Aquarium of the Pacific's Scarium of the Pacific:  Enjoy special programs for children. Activities include a costume contest, coloring contest, magic shows, face painting, and an underwater pumpkin-carving show.


FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 2012

2. Disneyland Resort's Halloween Time: Experience seasonal "treats" like space Mountain; Ghost Galaxy, the classic attraction with an eerie look, plus favorites like Tower of Terror. My personal favorite is the Ghost ride as it's all decked out for Halloween.

3. Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights: Navigate haunted mazes and Scare Zones, and take a ride on the Terror Tram, which drops guests off on some of the scariest sets on the Universal back lot. A special event ticket is needed. This event is not included with regular park admission. Costumes are not allowed. Not recommended for children under 13.


WEEKENDS IN OCTOBER, 2012

4. Legoland California Resort's Brick-or-Treat: Enjoy two trick or treat trails, a giant Lego pumpkin, themed decor and much more.


5. Sea World San Diego's Halloween Spooktacular: Sea World offers silly and spooky shows, like the Pirate 4-D movie experience and the Search for Captain Lucky's Treasure walk through adventure.


6. Knott's Berry Farm's Snoopy's Costume Party: This non scary daytime event offers shows, activities, and trick or treating geared for kids ages 3-11. Costumes are allowed.


FRIDAYS-SUNDAYS IN OCTOBER, 2012

7. Six Flags Magic Mountain's Fright Fest: The event offers hair raising shows, street entertainment, and haunted houses. Get ready to scream as I can tell you from experience that it's very spooky :)
